RWMC
has pioneered work relative to riparian • Native riparian plant/soil relationships (Anderson and Ohmart •
Plant salinity tolerances for several riparian species including cottonwood, several species of willow, mesquite, etc. (Anderson and Ohmart
1982, 1985, Anderson and Miller, 1993, Anderson, Russell, and Ohmart, In
press). • Monitoring method during irrigation phase of riparian revegetation ( • Irrigation requirements of cottonwood, Salix, Prosopis, Atriplex, and Sueada (Anderson 1989, Anderson and Ohmart 1982,1985) • Tillage requirements for riparian plant species ( Anderson 1989c, Anderson
and Ohmart 1982,1985 • Depth to water table tolerances for riparian species, including
cottonwood/willow ( • Preliminary evaluation of potential of sites for revegetation ( • Development of The Nine Step Revegetation Plan (TNSRP) (sketched in
Anderson 1989, Anderson and Laymon 1989, details in Anderson, Russell, and
Ohmart, 2003). • Founded independent, self‑sustaining, research oriented
organization. The Revegetation and Wildlife Management Center (RWMC),
operational since 1986 is devoted to wetland research. Funding
sources include grants and contracts from private, state, and federal
organizations. All of the following projects have been done through
RWMC.
